เปิดเครื่อง (Power up)

Notebook Acer รุ่นใหม่ๆที่มากับ Windows Vista นั้นจะเริ่มต้นด้วยการติดตั้ง Windows Vista แบบอัตโนมัติ โดยจะให้เรานั่งรอประมาณ 30 นาทีครับ แต่เราต้องคอยใส่พวก username, password รวมถึงตั้งชื่อเครื่องเท่านั้น ก็ถือว่าเป็นขั้นตอน 1-2-3 ไม่ยากสำหรับผู้ใช้ทุกระดับครับ

Acer Notebook with Windows Vista model will starting from automatically Windows Vista installation, which took about 30 minutes. We just sit and wait to fill in username, password and your expected PC name. It is quite easy for any user.

รูปลักษณ์ (Design)

• ผมว่าช่วงหลัง design ของ acer ก็ดูเข้าท่าดีนะครับ มนๆไม่เหลี่ยม แต่ไม่มีตัวล็อกระหว่างหน้าจอกับตัวเครื่อง(เวลาพับปิด)
• keypad ใช้สีเทาซึ่งตัดกับสีจอก็ดูแนว two-tone ไปอีกแบบ แต่ mousepad กดแล้วเสียงมันดังไปหน่อย
• ลำโพง dolby อยู่แนวหน้าเลย
• ฝาพับ ดูเหมือนจะแข็งแรงกว่าแต่ก่อนเก่า
• มีปุ่ม acer เขียวๆให้กดเพื่อ……(ผมลืมกดครับ )

การสร้างแผ่น Recovery (Recovery Disc)

เมื่อก่อนเราอาจจะเฉยๆนะครับ กับการสร้างแผ่น OS และ Driver backup แต่ช่วงนี้ notebook ที่ติดตั้ง Windows Vista มาให้ จะไม่ได้ให้แผ่น Windows Vista และ drivers มาเลย (เป็นเกือบจะทุกยี่ห้อเลยก็ว่าได้นะครับ) อย่างไรก็ตามใน notebook แต่ละยี่ห้อก็จะมี application สำหรับทำแผ่น backup ไว้ให้เราได้ใช้กันนะครับ เช่น Acer Notebook จะมีโปรแกรม eRecovery ไว้สำหรับสร้างแผ่น default factory (DVD 2 แผ่น หรือ CD 6-7 แผ่น ผมจำไม่ได้) และแผ่น backup driver, application (DVD 1 แผ่น หรือ CD 2-3 แผ่น) แนะนำให้สร้างไว้แต่เนิ่นๆก็จะดีนะครับ :love:

In the age of XP, I never think about recovery disc because we can easily download drivers from internet but when Vista has landed I have to rethink about this. Because most of Notebook will not provide Windows Vista and driver discs within a package.

With eRecovery application, you should create default factory disc (2 DVDs or 6-7 CDs) and driver&application backup disc (1 DVD or 2-3 CDs).

เกร็ดเล็กน้อยจากศูนย์ Acer (What I have learn from Acer Thailand)

นอกจากนั้น วันก่อนผมได้โทรไปสอบถามทางศูนย์บริการ Acer ได้ข้อมูลว่า ณ เวลาปัจจุบัน (สิงหาคม 2007) Acer Notebook เฉพาะรุ่นต่อไปนี้เท่่านั้น จึงจะมี driver สำหรับใช้ WindowsXP นอกนั้นจะมีเฉพาะ driver สำหรับ Windows Vista นะครับ :weep: ดังนั้นท่านใดที่จะ format Vista ที่ติดมากับเครื่อง หรือคิดว่าจะซื้อเครื่องมาแล้วค่อยลง XP ใหม่นั้นต้องระวังไว้นิดนะครับ :pirate:

Currently(Aug 2007), there is only the following models that support Windows XP. Therefore, anyone who plan to buy notebook and replace Vista with XP, please be aware that there is drivers for XP available at that time.
